Red Moon Terror

Red Moon Terror is a "one shot" module designed for the Shadowdark RPG for players level 1 through 3. The adventure is set in a small village on the outskirts of an ancient forest bog. A twilight hag uses the power of the red moon to turn the forest itself against the adventurers, animating plants and trees to assault the town. 

Can your party survive against these botanical horrors? Will they have the fortitude to defeat the hag and save the village? Or will they ultimately fall... to the Shadowdark!

This adventure was created for the Weird Tales Shadowdark Game Jam, August 2024. I was assigned Weird Tales Vol. 1, No. 3 from May, 1923. The original cover depicted a woman with a cauldron next to a man in a trench coat. The lead story blurb was “The Moon Terror” by A. G. Birch written on a red circle. I shifted the characters into an armored fighter facing off with the twilight hag as she animates plant creatures using the magic of the red moon.
